dj loudspeakers? WHAT’S BETTER?
I have come to a conclusion of 2 passive dj speakers. The MTX Audio TP1200 – http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14779_MTX-Audio-TP1200.html
or the rockford fosgate Rockford Fosgate RFDJ1 – http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22629_Rockford-Fosgate-RFDJ1.html
either way, they’l be pushed by a 200 watt rms sherwood stereo reciever that is 100 watts per channel. what has better mids &highs? what has better lows?
It’s pretty much a toss up but I’d lean a little more toward the Rockford Fosgate. However, I should point out that if you are going use that Sherwood receiver to push these things hard either by blasting DJ type music at home, at parties or by doing professional gigs it won’t last very long. Home audio receivers are just not built to stand up to that kind of punishment. Sherwoods aren’t exactly known as top quality gear either. You’d be far better in the long run by getting a professional quality power amp (assuming you have a DJ mixer or something with a pre-amp in it) like a Crown or a Peavey. Both of those brands make power amps that are tough as nails and can take day after day high power use.
